State of Affairs

So...let us talk about the state of affairs in this God-fearing country of ours. And when I say AFFAIRS you know I'm not talking about foreign, diplomatoc or current affairs. Although you could say many are still current. Lol. You would be amazed (or not) at the amount of people who stray from their marriages. Absolutely amazing.

Ok so why I write this is because of an incident last week or whenever it was. You know how these Chinese whispers go...it could be last year for all I know. Anyhew, it's your usual story - wife goes to work, forgets something at home and turns back, gets home to find woman sitting on her bed. In true Samoan fashion, wife pounces on adultering woman, beats her to a pulp, straightens her hair and goes back to work. And this is what I love about the Samoan Woman. In precarious situations like these, she will not falter. She will not turn back, quietly shut the door and leave the house with silent sobs. No. The Samoan Woman will fight. Someone of a different culture (like my mother) would say it shows lack of class for a woman to use her fists. And yes, perhaps for a westerner this may true. But please. In Samoa, the "sticks and stones" saying does not apply. Sticks and stones will INDEED hurt you, we make damn well sure of that. Lol.

So what was I talking about again? Affairs! That's right. So I have a friend who moved overseas last year but always asks me to update her on any "goss". Would you believe, almost every week my texts will start off with "did you know that so & so is having an affair with so & so?"

Which leads us to the question of WHY. Why are there so many people out there who are unhappy?

You tell me. I just wanted to tell you about the wife who beat up that woman...who also happens to be married to her nephew. And even better - this is her second marriage (the wife)...the first ended badly when her then husband found her in bed with another man (who became her second husband). What goes around comes around? I should think so.

Oh the lengths we humans will go for a bit of bodily pleasure.
