Elita & the chiropractor

A small update on the kids - well, more on Eden Elita to be exact.

Took her to the chiropractor because she was looking a bit bow-legged. The chiro said she had a twisted pelvis so one leg was longer than the other, and she had severe neck misalignment problems. WTF. She made it sound like I've been throwing the girl down the stairs on a regular basis. Well, not that I haven't thought about it :) I'm not surprised though. Elita falls off the bed almost every day - as soon as our backs are turned, she climbs on the bed and bounces up and down until she falls off. Or she climbs on the table and attempts to jump off. Or she bangs her head on the floor because she's throwing a fit. Honest to who, she's a violent little brat and Tino pales in comparison. When she's asleep with that angelic look on her face, everyone breathes a sigh of relief. Which lasts only 30 mins because Elita does not know the meaning of the word NAP. Or rather, NAP FOR AN HOUR OR MORE SO WE CAN DO SOME HOUSEWORK DAMMIT. Lol.

Back to the chiro - she's had 2 sessions. The first one was a tearful one - she didn't like her neck being touched but afterward she seemed happier - must be nice NOT to have a crick in your neck huh. The chiro did a series of massages on her spine and lower back and it looked absolutely painless but you could hear the clicks as she moved the bones back into place.

Result - we're $200 poorer. Lol. No, really the result has been good. She's falling over less because she has more balance - she can run faster to the fridge than normal and can tiptoe up to get her choco milk without toppling over. She can scale the stairs faster too. Sometimes I think I liked her better with the twisted pelvis. Hehe.

I ALSO have sneaky suspicions that she's showing signs either of autism or ADD - simply because she has a short attention span, likes to head bang when she's mad or just because she feels like it, she's a slow talker (but with a chatterbox older sister, I would rather be deaf AND dumb) - but MAYBE it's just her taking her time to develop. When she starts lining her toys in a row over and over, then I'll start to worry.

In the meantime, I'm going home to watch dvds, stop Elita from climbing the stairs and wait for Cyclone Rene.
