Work rant

It's March already. MARCH!! I'm still working on New Years resolutions and the year's almost half over.

Have been in a state of frustration at work and have been a complete bitch as a result. This time I've been careful not to take it out on the brats at home - but the one still in incubation has been feeling it, poor thing. It's usually a busy time at the office, but with the new boss (who is eternally on honeymoon period) still needs a guiding hand - and I'm supposed to be that guiding hand? Honey, it's like the blind leading the blind here. I've been working here for 2 years, 3/4 of it spent outside smoking...what did you expect? :) So it's been a lot of late nights, and we're talking 11pm kind of late nights, and weekends doing work for someone else. I've spent almost 2 months in deep resentment and loathing for my boss. After days of false contractions due to stress physically, mentally and emotionally, I snapped out of it, approached my work mentor (yeah we have those at work, cool huh) who help me out and talked to my boss for me - which was just as well because I suspect a direct encounter would have had me in labour. So, long story short, I'm feeling much better, have actually managed to break out a smile in the office and have put the voodoo doll in the bottom drawer. For now.

More happenings in the office - management goes to Fiji tonight - and boy were we excited to have next week off. Until we were told they arrive back on Monday night. Like who does that? Who goes off for a freaking working weekend? Shit. The following week we have our regional boss coming in to play golf and lounge around Aggie's, under the pretense of personally coming to tell us how BAT performed globally in 2010. Uh huh. On the positive side, we get our bonus on the same day. This time last year, we were raring to get to the bank and withdraw our $10k bonuses before the loan deductions kicked in. Sigh. Those were good times. This year nobody gives a rats ass cos they all know we're getting fuck-all this time around. Bad sales = bad bonus. Oh well...as long as there's enough in there to pay for Medcen medical expenses come April and baby #3, I can't complain.
