Farewell 2009!

And so we say farewell to what we would call an extremely eventful year. What with tsunamis, lives lost and homes wrecked beyond oblivion, tyrannic road switches, images of religious icons on buildings, hotels burning to ash, ships stranded on reefs, I would say it has been a complete disaster. Not to mention the economic recession which hit my purse strings in the solar plexus.

Otherwise, 2009 was just another year of ups and downs.

In a nutshell my 2009 was about:

- office retreats which was absolute good fun, lots of laughs and smirnoff apple.
- challenging new work projects, bringing BAT to a whole new level!
- Bora Bora visitations on a regular almost daily basiss
- saying farewell to my boss of 2 years from whom I have learned a vast amount, and I take with me a lot of worldly knowledge which he instilled in our team.
- watching Eden grow her first tooth, take her first step amidst a thousand falls, and learn to say "Mummy" & "Teti"
- enjoying Tinto with her new antics every day, memorizing my work number so she can call me 10 times a day to ask whether I'm coming home to bring her macdonalds and her dvd.
- discovering that by pure accident (one drunken night...lol) I have become pregnant again
- a very sober Xmas in which I slept early and I mean early like 10pm and not 6am the following morning type of early
- tumultuous time at home with mum in NZ for 3 months for surgery, and 2 days after parents return home, dad had a nasty fall crushing most of his face in (one of the most frightening things I have ever experienced - carrying my dad into the house single-handedly while blood literally poured from his face). Another 2 months in NZ for dad's surgery and then after-math of surgery rendered him senile and incontinent. very stressful time in the household and I am eternally grateful to my mother's good sense and my brother Arona's accommodating nature which was a godsend during this time.

So farewell to 2009 - out with the old and in with the new!
